The Finance department of AGC Europe works in close collaboration with all businesses of the AGC Group in Europe and the headquarters of the AGC Group in Tokyo. It provides them with expertise, advice and services in financial disciplines and activities and is responsible for implementing the Group’s policies in financial matters. The Finance department is closely involved in the operations of AGC businesses, thus involved in industrial and commercial projects in Europe. More specifically, the Finance department provides services in following areas :
- Treasury
The Treasury department is responsible for managing the financial operations of the Group in Europe including in - Funding of the operations of the Group
- Cash management
- Management of financial risks such as interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk, commodity risk (oil and gas, metals)
- Procedures and systems related to treasury
- Consolidation and Reporting
- The Consolidation Service Center (CSC) of AGC Europe is responsible for providing consolidated financial reporting for statutory and management purposes. The CSC defines the rules, instructions and procedures applicable for the financial consolidation and maintains related IT systems
- Accounting Competence Center
The Accounting Competence Center is responsible for - The maintenance and standardization of accounting rules, policies, processes and procedures across the business units and countries in Europe
- The maintenance of master data and procedures related to SAP financial and accounting modules used in Europe, the access and training of users and the management, in close collaboration with businesses and AGC Europe IT organization, of transversal projects related to accounting and reporting SAP systems
- Delivering accounting services to the financial entities in Belgium such as the Group Coordination Center "Global Glass Services"
- Finance Project Support
Finance Project Support is responsible for providing businesses with support (such as project management services) and advice (e.g. financial valuation, due diligence, …) in relation to projects of mergers and acquisitions or other financial projects (such as implementation of Japanese SOX rules in Europe)
